Meridian Advisory Ltd
Carbon Reduction Plan
Source coverage: The organisation has confirmed its required sources can be covered in Carbon Verify. Fictional demonstration of Carbon Verify’s supported common sources, not a real expert assessment.
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Meridian Advisory Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse-gas emissions by 2045.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline year: 2024.
Illustrative demo baseline using the same operational-control boundary and Standard CRP coverage.
| Scope | tCO₂e |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 | 1.66 |
| Scope 2 | 6.13 |
| Scope 3 | 32.33 |
| Total | 40.12 |
Current emissions reporting
Reporting period: 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026.
| Scope | tCO₂e |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 | 1.84 |
| Scope 2 | 6.81 |
| Scope 3 | 35.92 |
| Total | 44.58 |
Electricity basis: gross totals and reduction targets use the location-based UK grid-average electricity result (6.81 tCO₂e). A supplier or contractual electricity figure does not replace this result. Other purchased energy, where entered, is reported separately within Scope 2.
Coverage and calculation limitations
Reporting scope: Standard CRP. Scope 1, Scope 2 and the PPN 006 subset of Scope 3 (Categories 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9). Checked other sources within these scopes can contribute. Built-in purchases, water supply, electricity losses and hotel stays are not included. Saved entries outside this scope and additional category assessments are retained for Extended mode, not treated as zero activity.
Scope 3 coverage recorded:
Category 5: Waste generated in operations (entered operational waste and wastewater treatment).
Category 6: Business travel (entered business transport and staff-owned-car business mileage; built-in hotel stays are not included).
Category 7: Employee commuting (entered car, bus and rail commuting; home-working energy and other modes are not calculated).
Scope 3 exclusions: None recorded.
Assessed as not applicable by the organisation: Category 4: Upstream transportation and distribution — no activity reported (0 tCO₂e): Fictional assumption: this advisory business had no incoming goods transport or outgoing sold-goods distribution by external carriers during the reporting period; Category 9: Downstream transportation and distribution — no activity reported (0 tCO₂e): Fictional assumption: this advisory business had no incoming goods transport or outgoing sold-goods distribution by external carriers during the reporting period.
The total covers quantified activity entered using Carbon Verify’s available methods and evidenced separate emissions figures. An Included choice does not establish complete coverage of every source in that category. Missing activities and unfinished entries are not zero emissions. The organisation must check the inventory boundary, source evidence and any overlaps before relying on it.
Other exclusions and limitations: This fictional example uses the Standard CRP scope: the supported Scope 1 and 2 activities and the five PPN 006 Scope 3 categories. Checked other sources within these scopes can contribute. The built-in purchases, water supply, hotel stays and electricity-loss entries are outside this report. A real organisation must check every required source, missing data and buyer requirements before relying on a plan.
Emissions reduction targets
Over the next five years, to 2031, we project that emissions will decrease to 33.43 tCO₂e. This is a reduction of 25.0% against the current reporting period.
Carbon reduction projects
Completed carbon reduction initiatives
• LED lighting installed throughout the fictional organisation • Energy and travel data assigned to named internal owners • Renewable electricity options reviewed while location-based emissions remain disclosed
Planned carbon reduction initiatives
• Reduce purchased electricity and heating demand over the next five years • Replace eligible vehicles with lower-emission alternatives • Improve supplier and commuting activity data before the next annual review
Declaration and sign-off
This Carbon Reduction Plan is a voluntary self-assessed plan. Its structure is informed by PPN 006 and the GHG Protocol, but the organisation is not claiming that a buyer, regulator or independent assurer has accepted it.
Emissions have been calculated with reference to the GHG Protocol corporate standard and the selected UK Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse-gas company reporting.
The Scope 3 categories shown reflect the organisation's documented assessment. The organisation remains responsible for their completeness, evidence and continuing review.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors or equivalent management body.
