SECR product terms

These terms explain the Carbon Verify SECR annual reporting workspace, its subscription and the limits of the draft outputs it creates.

The product

Carbon Verify SECR is a standalone, browser-based workspace for assembling energy and transport records, checking calculations and preparing draft Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting wording and supporting files. It does not require Carbon Verify’s CRP tool.

The standard annual licence is intended for one reporting organisation and its annual workspace. Contact hello@carbonverify.co.uk before using one licence for multiple unrelated reporting organisations or as a bureau service.

Subscription and payment

The advertised price is £99 per year + VAT unless a different price is clearly shown at checkout. Advertised prices exclude VAT; VAT is added at checkout where applicable, and the total is shown before you pay. The subscription renews annually until cancelled. Lemon Squeezy acts as the merchant of record and provides the checkout, receipt, tax handling and customer billing portal. The price, tax and renewal date shown at checkout form part of your purchase.

You can manage or cancel the subscription through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewal; access normally continues until the end of the paid subscription period. Any statutory rights that apply are unaffected.

Licence access

A valid licence key for Carbon Verify SECR is required to use the paid workspace on the live website. A browser activation counts towards the activation allowance set for the product. Removing the licence from a browser releases that activation only after Lemon Squeezy confirms the deactivation.

A short offline grace period may keep an already validated browser available during a temporary connection problem. First activation and periodic licence checks need an internet connection. Cancelling, expiry, refund, chargeback or disabling a key may end access, but does not deliberately delete workspace data already stored in your browser.

Your data and backups

Workspace information is saved locally in the browser rather than in a Carbon Verify account. You are responsible for downloading and safely retaining the portable .cvw backup and any Word or Excel outputs. Clearing browser data, using private browsing or changing device can remove the local copy.

You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, lawful use and appropriate protection of the information you enter or export.

Drafts, not professional assurance

The scope result, calculations, prompts and generated files are working aids. They are not legal, accounting, tax, audit or assurance advice, do not determine your legal reporting duty, and are not filed with Companies House or another authority. Rules, factors and official guidance can change.

Before relying on an output, check the reporting route, entity and group boundary, source records, factors, estimates, exclusions, intensity ratio, prior-year comparison and final wording with the appropriate director, member, accountant, auditor or adviser.

Availability and updates

Carbon Verify may update the workspace, emissions factors, rules snapshot, templates and supported browsers. Reasonable care is taken in preparing the product, but uninterrupted availability and suitability for every organisation or reporting structure are not guaranteed. Complex groups, quoted companies and unusual reporting cases may need a different process or specialist advice.
